The St Benedict XVI retreat was established by Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney as a retreat facility to support an expanded retreat program throughout the Catholic Schools of Sydney, as a purpose-built retreat center for schools, parishes, agencies, religious orders, communities and movements and other groups.

The Position-

The primary role of the Guest Services Night Officer is to be the first point of contact throughout the night for guests staying overnight in accordance with the group booking planner and operational guidelines.

Responsibilities-

Main contact for guests throughout the night. Provide a high level of customer service and assist with enquiries, to ensure the comfort and satisfaction of all guests.

Overall care of the venue, and ensuring facilities of the Centre are safe and operational at all times (including appropriately reporting concerns for action).

Responsible for the Workplace, Health and Safety (WH&S) of the guests at the Centre. Ensure all processes are followed as outlined in the Archdiocese WH&S policy.

 

  • Ensure the hospitality  services for guests are set up and provided in a timely and professional manner according to the booking schedule and quality guidelines.

  • Undertake Centre opening and closing procedures according to Centre guidelines.

  • Attend and prepare handover briefings (including documentation).

  • Perform administrative tasks as set by the General Manager (or

  • Director Business Operations).

  • In the event of an emergency, action the BXVI Emergency Management Plan and liaise with the group leader as required to

  • remain informed.

OVERSEE FOUR RESTAURANTS LOCATED IN PHUKET           MD / General Manager  | 1999-2017

From 1999 - 2017, designed, built & operated six Restaurants & Pubs in key tourist destinations in Phuket & Bangkok Thailand. Managed both front & back of house operations, inventory control, accounting,  budgets / P&L reporting & end of month closing accounts.  Responsible for all day to day operations & future business development, co-ordinate functions & catering.  Experienced the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami, where two outlets were destroyed & calculated and supervised the insurance claims.

Recruited to provide dynamic management and lead turnarounds of flagging / unprofitable restaurant operations in Bangkok.  Functioned as restaurant designer, project manager, and subsequent GM to lead restaurants back to profitability, rebranding, design & construction.

180-seat sports pub  located in Bangkok, this outlet was failing, non-profitable & run down

Using limited funds,  offset the renovation costs & re-branding by negotiating sponsorship & support deals with Heineken & GUINNESS

Managed highly successful launch of Thailand’s 2nd Molly Malones Irish Pub (in Pattaya) and served as GM for 6 years

6-years after high-profit launch and operations of Molly Malones in Pattaya, acquired and managed rebranding of the Irish Xchange Pub Bangkok to Molly Malones Irish Pub Bangkok.

For both, managed full interior renovation while still open (sourced and managed contractors, created renovation budgets including rebranding. Managed all operations – inventory control, accounts &Food & Beverage production costs, end of month financial reporting, etc

Managed department through region wide currency devaluation & 1997 financial crisis where hotel occupancy drop by 90% across Thailand & implemented cost cutting measures as well as a pay cut to operate successfully on shoestring budgets. The currency recovery took 2 years
